In one of his final acts as president, Obama commuted the sentences of 330 federal prisoners. Serving life in prison, Trenton Copeland had been pleading for months.
This group was the most amount of people Obama granted commutations to in a single day.
“I resign immediately,” Corpus Christi Mayor Dan McQueen wrote on Facebook. “The city can no longer deal with such differing views and divisiveness."
"As a result of Geller's success in this experimental period, we consider that he has demonstrated his paranormal perceptual ability in a convincing and unambiguous manner."
Mayor Jim Fouts, of Warren, Mich., called the recordings "vile, vitriolic, phony." Numerous local, state and national officials have called on him to step down.
The White House released a list of names of individuals whose sentences were commuted and who was pardoned.
The White House said that Obama has commuted more sentences than any other president in American history.
"Tombstone became famous because of guns. Guys carry guns every day,” Tombstone Mayor Dusty Escapule said.
Legislators who say they are weary of a year of protests against the Dakota Access Pipeline have proposed a slew of bills aimed at demonstrators.
"I went crazy,” the boy's father, Henry Camarena, said. “It was the worst experience of my life actually."
