The person responsible for sending an insanely graphic tweet from the official US Airways account on Monday won’t be fired because they made an honest mistake, a spokesman for the airline said Tuesday.

In case you somehow missed this on Monday (and you didn’t, because of course you didn’t, everybody heard about this, but just in case you happened not to check the Internet or talk to any other humans between Monday morning and right this second): A tweet sent to a customer on Monday afternoon included a picture of a naked woman putting a toy plane in a place that toy planes don’t typically go.

Matt Miller, a spokesman for the American Airlines Group (the parent company of American Airlines and US Airways, which merged), apologized again for the image and said the mistake was made by someone on the company’s social media team.

Is this person being fired or disciplined?

“No, absolutely not,” Miller told The Post via telephone from Fort Worth, Tex., where the company is based. “It was an honest mistake.”

Miller said that the image had been tweeted at one of the airlines, so someone grabbed the tweet to flag it as inappropriate. But it was “inadvertently shared” instead, he said.

“We deeply regret the mistake,” Miller said.

The company is going to review its social media processes to see how they can prevent something like this from happening again.

And it was the second big Twitter-related headache for the merged airline this week. A Dutch teenager tweeted a threat at American Airlines and was arrested. As a result, a bunch of other teenagers decided to tweet threats at American, because teenagers are teenagers.
