A story about the stories about the stories about the story

On Wednesday, the Stockton Police Department posted the mugshots of four people they arrested for felony weapons charges following a series of shootings and robberies in the area. This photo of one of the men currently has more than 63,000 likes and more than 18,000 comments.

If you have ever been on the Internet at any point in your life, you already know where this is going, right? A story for every one of those likes, until the Internet is nothing but this story and stories about this story and stories about the stories about the stories. (This post is an homage [sure] to the Awl, which did this exact same feature earlier this week, because news on the Internet is an inescapable, recursive loop.)
