Passenger dies during flight from Honolulu to Phoenix

A woman flying from Honolulu to Phoenix died Wednesday following a medical emergency during the flight, authorities said.

US Airways Flight 693 arrived in Phoenix at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday morning. A medical emergency was declared as it was approaching Phoenix, said Matt Miller, a spokesman for American Airlines (which merged with US Airways).

The flight landed at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and was met by the Phoenix Fire Department. Firefighters said the woman had no pulse and was pronounced dead, with investigators believing that she died of natural causes, according to the Arizona Republic.
