Two hours into a peaceful protest march on Thursday night in Dallas, the gunfire began. It rained down from a perch above the crowd. Then the sniper shifted to another spot and opened fire again. It went on until the suspect was cornered — and eventually killed by a robotic bomb maneuvering into place by police. On the streets below, five officers were dead.
