Harvey dumped record levels of rain on Houston and other parts of Texas, with the storm and flooding, which still might not recede for days in some areas, affecting millions of people in the southeast part of the state. The National Weather Service described the flooding as “epic and catastrophic” and “beyond anything experienced.”

Here are several organizations and coordinated efforts coming to the aid of Texans:

The American Red Cross is encouraging people to donate money on its website or to text 90999 to donate $10. The organization is also asking for volunteers.

The crowdfunding website Global Giving is trying to raise $5 million to provide “food, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term recovery assistance” to Harvey’s victims. Through Saturday afternoon, it had raised more than $2.25 million from 22,421 donors.

Save the Children is collecting donations via its website, and providing supplies and play areas at shelters for infants and toddlers. Donors can also text “Hurricane” to 20222 to donate $25 via their phone bill. The Texas Diaper Bank is also assisting people with small children.

The crowdfunding service GoFundMe also has highlighted stories of people who are suffering as a result of Harvey.

Airbnb has waived fees for people affected by Harvey who check in through Sept. 25. It’s also connecting people who need a place to stay with people who are offering space free.

The South Texas Blood & Tissue Center and Texas-based Carter BloodCare (1-877-385-724) are accepting donations.

Several organizations are offering aid to displaced pets, including Dallas Animal Services and the SPCA of Texas.
