CNN shed a little light this morning on an incident in which two Republican National Convention guests were removed from the convention hall after they threw peanuts at a black camerawoman, saying, “This is how we feed animals." 

“Two attendees tonight exhibited deplorable behavior," convention officials said in a statement. "Their conduct was inexcusable and unacceptable. This kind of behavior will not be tolerated."

The network confirmed reports on what happened but is offering no further comment. Post media critic Erik Wemple argues that CNN should identify the perpetrators: 

The world needs to know who these nut-hurlers are. Just a couple of folks kicking around the convention? Subversives trying to mar the Republican Party’s party? Delegates? Officeholders? Do these individuals serve the public in any way? If so, their constituents may want to know a bit about what went down.
