Who got the better of the Scrum in Scranton?

Paul Ryan came equipped with a moment that was clearly intended to be a big zinger for the night — pointing out that unemployment in Joe Biden's home town of Scranton, Pa.,  has risen from 8.5 percent to 10 percent since President Obama took office.

"That's how things are going all across America," Ryan said, in a line that might have been one of the most powerful punches he threw all night.

Except. Biden jumped right in, speaking over Ryan and declaring, "That's NOT how things are going."

Which is true — the national unemployment rate just dipped below 8 percent for the first time since Obama took office. Good for the country. Maybe not so good for Scranton.
