The monthly U.S. employment report -- a critical election-year barometer of political and economic success for President Obama -- will be released as scheduled on Friday, the Labor Department said.

Officials with the Labor Department and Bureau of Labor Statistics had cautioned this week that the report could be delayed because analysts who prepare it could not get to work in Washington on Monday.

But officials have confirmed that all systems were go for 8:30 a.m. Friday, as scheduled.
