One of the senators whom President Obama chided in his news conference over criticism of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice's comments on the September attacks in Benghazi has already responded.
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) issued this statement:
Mr. President, don’t think for one minute I don’t hold you ultimately responsible for Benghazi. I think you failed as Commander in Chief before, during, and after the attack.
We owe it to the American people and the victims of this attack to have full, fair hearings and accountability be assigned where appropriate. Given what I know now, I have no intention of promoting anyone who is up to their eyeballs in the Benghazi debacle.
GOP Sens. Graham, John McCain (Ariz.) and Kelly Ayotte (N.H.) held their own news conference hours before Obama's, saying that Rice would be ill-qualified for the secretary of state post she is reportedly in line for when Hillary Clinton steps down.
