Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel returned to the White House today to meet with the president, vice president and a few heads of federal agencies. News reports say the former White House chief of staff was seen entering the West Wing this morning about 10 a.m.

The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Emanuel will meet with President Obama and Vice President Biden, as well as Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood and Energy Secretary Steven Chu.

A spokeswoman for Emanuel told a Chicago NBC affiliate that "The mayor is meeting with government officials to discuss a variety of issues facing Chicago."
