Incoming National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Greg Walden (Ore.) has tapped Liesl Hickey as executive director for 2014, as first reported by Roll Call. She replaces Guy Harrison. Hickey led the NRCC's "Patriot Program," aimed at keeping GOP incumbents in office, in the past election cycle.
Hickey previously served as an adviser to the National Republican Senatorial Committee. Before that she was chief of staff to then-Rep. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.). Hickey also worked as a senior director at ONE, a nonprofit campaign to fight poverty and global disease.
“Greg and I share an understanding that forward and creative thinking and aggressively staying on offense will make our majority stronger in 2014,” Hickey said in a statement.
