Karl Rove was "benched" by Fox News executives in the wake of the election, but it appears his time-out will be brief.

Rove is scheduled to appear on "Special Report with Bret Baier" next Monday, according to an update posted to his Web site on Thursday. He will also show up on Fox Business Network a few days later.

New York Magazine reported earlier this week that post-election, network chief Roger Ailes wanted Rove and fellow Republican strategist Dick Morris off the air for the moment. Producers were told to seek permission before booking either pundit.

Morris had repeatedly predicted a landslide win for Romney, while on election night Rove disputed the network's on-air call that Obama had won Ohio.
