Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), the House budget committee chairman and former GOP vice presidential nominee, supports House Speaker John Boehner's "Plan B" proposal to avert the fiscal cliff.

Ryan has been working closely with House leaders since his return to Congress after he and Mitt Romney were defeated in the November presidential election. He joined Boehner's daily management meeting to discuss fiscal cliff strategy but has kept a low public profile and has shied from weighing in publicly as President Obama and Boehner have sought a bipartisan deficit reduction deal.
