Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) emerged from a meeting with his fellow Republicans and signaled that talks are continuing toward approval of a deal.
"I think it's highly likely that some time this evening there'll be a vote on the Senate side," he told reporters. "This is one of those things that could well go into the early morning by the time it goes to a vote. But I don't think there's a thought at present about trying to make this happen tomorrow. I think they're attempting to get the legislative language in order and vote on it tonight, you know, 1, 2, 3, 4 in the morning, whatever."
Corker said he and other senators would prefer at least a little time to review any deal before casting a vote, saying that whatever transpires is likely to be a complex agreement.
