<p>Christie, who is up for re-election this year, <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/01/02/christie-blames-toxic-house-gop-for-sandy-aid-delay/">castigated </a>House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) last week for failing to pass the aid package before the end of the 112th Congress. Two days later, the House approved $9.7 billion in flood insurance and Republican leaders promised to deliver an additional $51 billion on Jan. 15. </p>
<p>State Senate President Sean Sweeney (D) <a href="http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/christie_chronicles/Christie-State-of-the-State-is-recovering.html">dismissed Christie's speech</a> as having "no detail, no focus." The potential gubernatorial candidate <a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/post-politics/wp/2013/01/08/christie-opponent-says-n-j-governor-prayed-for-sandy/">earlier apologized</a> for saying that Christie had "prayed" for the storm to come, because it took focus off the state's other problems. </p>
