President Obama's former chief of staff is moving towards a bid for governor of Illinois.

Bill Daley, brother of former Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley and son of former mayor Richard J. Daley, commissioned a poll to test his chances in the 2014 race.

Daley announced in December that he was "seriously" considering challenging Gov. Pat Quinn in the Democratic primary. "There is nothing wrong with Illinois right now that can't be fixed with better leadership," he said at the time.

But Daley, a former executive at JP Morgan Chase, flirted with bids in 2002 and 2010 and passed both times.
