A Republican National Committee task force charged with finding the way forward for the party is surveying top strategists and gathering their ideas.

The "Growth and Opportunity Project," which is co-chaired by Mississippi Republican National Committeeman Henry Barbour and former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer, among others, sent an e-mail to party bigwigs Friday morning asking them to fill out an online survey.

Among the questions asked:

* How likely are Republicans to win House, Senate and governor's seats in the 2014 election and the White House in 2016?

* What should be the party's top three priorities in the coming years?

* How do Republican campaigns compare to Democratic campaigns in the areas of fundraising, messaging, "campaign mechanics" and 26 other specialized areas of campaigns?

* In which areas (a list is provided with possible ratings from 1-10 for each area) does the party need to improve the most?

The survey is by invitation only, and recipients are asked to respond by Thursday.
