The Federal Election Commission has raised the amount that individuals can give to political candidates from $2,500 per election to $2,600 per election and the amount they can give to party committees from $30,800 per year to $32,400 per year.

The amount that can be contributed is indexed for inflation and occasionally raised at the start of a new election cycle.

Individuals can contribute $2,600 for each election, which means they can donate a total of $5,200 to one candidate for the primary and general elections combined. And when it comes to party giving, they can also give twice in one election cycle, as long as the contributions happen in separate calendar years.

The other contribution limits remain the same. The updated contribution limits can be viewed here.
