Stephen Barton, a victim of the Aurora, Colo., theater shooting who lives just a few miles away from Sandy Hook Elementary School, is attending the State of the Union address as a guest of Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.).
The Post's Brady Dennis profiled Barton after he was shot in the face and neck on July 20. Barton was passing through Aurora on a cross-country cycling trip he intended to finish in San Francisco.
“There’s no way it’s going to end here," Barton said at the time. “There’s no way I biked 3,000 miles to come to this theater and get killed in it.”
Barton has since become an advocate for stricter gun control. He's one of dozens of victims of gun violence who are attending the State of the Union as a guest of a member of Congress.
