The Violence Against Women Act passed easily in the House on Thursday, though 138 Republicans voted against it. It will now go to President Obama's desk for his signature.

This marks the third time that House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has violated the so-called Hastert Rule, which states that no bill shall be brought to a vote in the House unless it has the support of a majority of the majority party's members.
