Federal authorities plan to brief members of the House of Representatives at 5 p.m. Tuesday on the Boston bombings and the ongoing investigation, according to aides to House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio).

Members of both parties will be invited to attend, the aides said.

Meanwhile, Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) said Monday that her panel will be speaking with members of the FBI’s intelligence unit as early as Tuesday to learn more about the bombings and investigation. Whenever senators meet with the FBI, the hearing will be closed to the public, Feinstein aides said Monday.
