The Associated Press says its Twitter account was hacked Tuesday after its @AP feed tweeted about purported "explosions" at the White House, and the White House confirms everything is OK.

"Breaking: Two Explosions in the White House and Barack Obama is injured," read the tweet.

The Post's Erik Wemple reports AP spokesman Paul Colford told him, "That’s a bogus tweet.”

White House press secretary Jay Carney, meanwhile, assured that the president was unharmed.

"The president is fine," Carney said at his daily briefing. "I was just with him.”

AP employees and other official accounts also tweeted that the account had been hacked, and the @AP account had been suspended.

The hacked tweet comes not long after AP issued a memo citing mistakes made during the aftermath of the Boston Marathon bombings.

CBS News also had its Twitter accounts hacked in recent days, including @60Minutes.
