Paul Kevin Curtis, the Mississippi man charged with sending ricin-laced letters to the White House, a U.S. senator and a Mississippi judge, was released on bond Tuesday about the same time that more of the deadly substance may have been found in Washington.

Curtis, 45, was released about 11:30 a.m. Central time, according to Jeff Woodfin, chief deputy of the U.S. Marshals Service for the Northern District of Mississippi. When a suspect is released on bond, charges are not dropped.
