The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee again outraised its GOP counterpart in April, pulling in $5.4 million to the National Republican Congressional Committee's $5.1 million, according to a DCCC aide.

The DCCC also leads the NRCC in cash on hand ($10.4 million to $8.7 million) and has less debt ($4.1 million to $6.25 million).

Despite being the minority party in the House, the DCCC has outraised the NRCC $28 million to $22.5 million so far this year. Committee aides note that it has already paid down $8 million of its debt this year.

Democrats need to win 17 GOP-held seats to retake the majority -- something that has proven difficult in midterm election for the president's party.
