Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), a top ally of House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), said Sunday that Boehner should not bring the Senate's immigration bill up for a vote and that it likely wouldn't pass even if he did.

Cole said that Boehner shouldn't break the so-called "Hastert Rule" to do so. Cole noted that Boehner has broken the rule -- which requires anything being voted on in the House to have the support of a majority of the majority party -- multiple times before even though he didn't have to.
