The Republican National Committee announced Friday that it raised $8 million in June.

The total brings it cash on hand to $12.7 million.

The committee is in significantly better financial shape than its Democratic counterpart, which had $6 million in cash and $19.8 million in debt at the end of May.

The DNC is paying off its debt at a rate of less than $1 million per month, leaving it in rough financial shape heading into the 2014 midterm elections.
