The League of Conservation Voters launched a nearly $2 million TV ad campaign on climate change Monday aimed at three House Republicans and Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.).

"This is the African Ostrich," says the narrator of the spot running in the district of Rep. Mike Coffman (R-Colo.). "Tall, flightless, head in the sand. And this is Congressman Coffman, also with his head in the sand — on climate change."

The ad goes on to call Coffman "extreme." Democrats are targeting Coffman's 6th district seat this cycle, and have recruited former state House Speaker Andrew Romanoff (D) for the race.

The group launched similar ads against Rep. Dan Benishek (R-Mich.) and Rodney Davis (R-Ill.), who Democrats are also eyeing. The entire ad campaign cost nearly $2 million, the organization said.

It's notable the LCV is hitting Johnson, who doesn't face reelection until 2016. The group said it would release video of the Johnson commercial later this week.
