Former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani will raise money for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's (R) reelection bid next Saturday.

According to an invitation on the New York Republican Party Web site, Giuliani will be a featured guest at a $3,800-per-person cocktail party  Aug. 24.

Other featured guests include businessman Nick Loeb — perhaps best known as actress Sofia Vergara's fiance. The event will be held at the home of Clifford and Barbara Sobel. Clifford Sobel is the former U.S. ambassador to Brazil under George W. Bush.

Christie has in recent weeks adopted a hard-line position on surveillance programs and national security, attacking libertarian-leaning members of Congress — including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) —  for questioning the government's surveillance programs.

Many have likened Christie's stance on the issue to Giuliani — another Northeastern Republican and foreign policy hawk who ran for president (and fared poorly) in 2008.
