Biden in Houston as son undergoes medical evaluation

Update 10:59 a.m. Tuesday: Beau Biden tweeted the following picture and said he will update his situation as it progresses.

 

Vice President Biden traveled to Houston on Monday with his son, Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden (D), as the younger Biden seeks medical help.

According to a statement from the vice president's office, Beau Biden experienced weakness and disorientation during a family vacation last week.

The statement from Biden's office included no other details.

Update 10:09 p.m.: Here is the statement from Beau Biden's office:

On Wednesday night, after feeling weak and disoriented following a long drive to Indiana for a family vacation, Attorney General Beau Biden was admitted to Northwestern University Hospital. The next morning, feeling better, he traveled to Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia to consult with his doctor about his earlier symptoms. The Attorney General was discharged and spent the weekend at home in Wilmington.

He is currently undergoing testing in Houston, Texas, to investigate the cause of his symptoms, and further information will be forthcoming.

Attorney General Biden spoke by phone to Chief Deputy Attorney General Ian McConnel over the weekend, and has been in touch with his office this evening.
