Many of the Americans who have won the Nobel Peace Prize, "the world's most prestigious prize," have been  U.S. politicians.

President Obama was the last president to win the award for his achievements in strengthening international cooperation and working towards a future with no nuclear weapons. The first president to win was Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 for his efforts to help end the Russo-Japanese War.

In total, four U.S. presidents (Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Woodrow Wilson, and Theodore Roosevelt) and one vice president (Al Gore) have taken home the honor.

In this segment, PostTV's In Play takes a look back at some of America's prominent politicians who have also been able to call themselves Nobel laureates.
