Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) is launching a conservative nonprofit that will develop policy plans, he announced Thursday, a decision that ramps up speculation about a potential 2016 presidential run.
Dubbed "America Next," the organization will develop policy ideas with an initial emphasis on health care, education and energy. It will be organized as a 501(c)(4), tax code shorthand for social welfare groups that are not required to disclose their donors. Such groups can participate in politics, so long as it is not the primary focus. Jindal's new group says it will not be focused on elections.
