The gun-control group led by former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and husband Mark Kelly is out with a new ad featuring somber images of the aftermath of the mass shooting in Newtown, Conn. urging Congress to act a year after the tragedy.

The ad, from Americans for Responsible Solutions, features still photos of the memorials to the 26 who died at Sandy Hook Elementary.

It features no narrator but flashes the following message at the end:

"30,000 die each year from gun violence. How long do we have to wait for Congress to act."

Giffords was the victim of a previous mass shooting at a grocery store in Tucson in January 2011.
