Former Montana governor Brian Schweitzer (D) continued Sunday to flirt with the possibility of running for president in 2016 as he reiterated his criticism of Democrats who supported going to war in Iraq, which has been seen as a swipe at former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton.
"Those people who supported that Iraqi war didn't understand the politics of the Middle East," Schweitzer said on ABC's "This Week With George Stephanopoulos," echoing what he recently said in Iowa, the first-in-the-nation presidential caucus state. "Al-Qaeda wasn't there. Iraq hadn't attacked us. We made a very big mistake there. It cost us a lot of blood and a lot of treasure. And we ought not make those mistakes in the future."
