Former Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown was so busy picking a new state that he forgot to pick a party.

Whoever filled out Brown’s formal statement of organization for his campaign exploratory committee left blank the small gray box asking for the candidate’s party affiliation.

The Brown committee received a letter from the FEC Friday with a gentle reminder that Brown needed to select a party. As of Monday morning, his file on the FEC Web site did not have him listed as a Republican.
