The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee posted its best fundraising month of the 2014 election cycle in March, pulling in $8.1 million, about $1.75 million more than its Republican counterpart.

President Obama continued to help the DSCC raise money last month, headlining a New York fundraiser. He will help the DSCC raise money again Wednesday during a swing through Texas.

The DSCC ended March with $22.2 million in the bank and no debt.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee raised $6.35 million in March, also its best month of the cycle. It ended the month with about $15.9 million on hand and no debt.

Senate Republicans need to pick up six seats to win the majority.
