About a third of the American public blames Veterans Affairs Secretary Eric K. Shinseki and the VA for reported problems at VA facilities that have received growing national attention, according to a new CBS News poll.

Shinseki (33 percent) gets more blame than local VA hospitals (28 percent) or President Obama (17 percent). Nearly a quarter of Americans (23 percent) say they don't know who to blame.

Obama addressed allegations of long wait times for treatment and false record-keeping on Wednesday.

The poll of 1,056 adults was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday.
