Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) had another strong fundraising quarter, pulling in $3.3 million between April and June, outpacing his likely Republican opponent 3 to 1.
Businessman Mike McFadden (R), who has the endorsement of the state GOP, raised $1.1 million during the same period. McFadden has more than $2 million in his campaign account.
Franken, consistently one of the Senate's best fundraisers, ended June with more than $5 million cash on hand, his campaign said.
The first-term senator and former "Saturday Night Live" star is not viewed as particularly vulnerable. But GOP strategists like what they have seen from McFadden and believe that if 2014 becomes a GOP wave year, Franken might find himself in some trouble.
For now, though, the incumbent has the upper hand.
