A national conservative super PAC is going up with a radio spot Tuesday that accuses Kay Hagan and national Democrats of race baiting in the run-up to next week’s tight Senate election in North Carolina.

The ad, launched by American Commitment, is a direct response to a 60-second radio spot released several weeks ago by the Senate Majority PAC that ties GOP rival Thom Tillis to "the type of Stand Your Ground laws that caused the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.” In the rebuttal, American Commitment knocks the original ad and attempts to tie Hagan to President Obama and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.

"Have you heard this race-hustling Kay Hagan ad paid for by Harry Reid's super PAC? Probably not. Because they're not running it on this station,” says the narrator before audio of the Senate Majority PAC spot is sampled. “Desperate to hold on to power, Obama, Reid, and Hagan are shamelessly race-baiting, and it's only going to get worse this weekend.”

The 60-second radio clip will run today and tomorrow statewide and is backed by an initial $30,000 buy.
