Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Wednesday posted a video on social media mocking Hillary Clinton, calling her a punch line and signaling the nasty general election fight that would ensue if they become their parties’ presidential nominees.

“Is this what we want for a President?” a caption says on the video, which goes on to show footage of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a masked Islamic State terrorist and Clinton. “When it comes to facing our toughest opponents, the Democrats have the perfect answer.”

The video then cuts to footage of Clinton play-barking.

“We don't need to be a punch line!” a new caption reads.

Is this what we want for a President?

Trump and the former secretary of state have escalated attacks on each other as they inch closer to locking down their respective parties’ nominations. Trump regularly criticizes Clinton for her use of a private email server, saying that she should go to prison, and has made mocking insinuations about former president Bill Clinton’s marital infidelities.

Clinton, meanwhile, has taken a hard-line stance on Trump’s anti-immigrant rhetoric and has accused him in sharp terms of encouraging a culture of violence at his campaign rallies.

The footage comes from a Clinton campaign rally in February, when she told a story about an old campaign ad that featured a dog who barked whenever someone lied. Clinton’s insinuation was that the Republican field was lying about many of their claims.
