Clinton to make new pledge to push infrastructure bill in first 100 days

LOS ANGELES — Hillary Clinton will make a new pledge to act on infrastructure in her first 100 days in office, according to a campaign aide.

Clinton had previously said that she would propose a $275 billion infrastructure plan, which includes both direct investment and investment through a national infrastructure bank.

With this new pledge, Clinton intends to add to that amount, according to the campaign. She also promises to send a bill to Congress with the proposed spending within the first few months of her administration.

“All told, this proposal would represent the most significant increase in infrastructure investment since President Eisenhower built the Interstate Highway System,” the aide said.

Clinton has also promised to address comprehensive immigration reform in her first 100 days.

Clinton will announce the pledge at a campaign event in Orange County, Calif. Both Clinton and her Democratic primary opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders, have spent most of the week campaigning in the Golden State ahead of its June 7 primary.
