How’s your #PresidentialFace? Twitter jumps on Priebus for Clinton smile tweet

In case you haven’t heard, Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus really stepped in it Wednesday night on Twitter.

It started with the presidential forum hosted by NBC, a kind-of dry run for this fall’s debates. Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump appeared for back-to-back interviews with Matt Lauer at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum in Manhattan. Each got 30 minutes to answer questions about national security.

Lauer and NBC are facing plenty of criticism for their handling of the event. But on social media, it’s the reactions to this tweet that are really taking off:

Note to men everywhere: Don’t tell women to smile. Just don’t do it. It’s not okay.

The GOP has been on a roll this week. On Tuesday, during an interview with ABC, Trump said Clinton doesn’t have a “presidential look,” and “you need a presidential look.” These comments drew a sharp rebuke from Clinton’s campaign.
