After a solid showing at the Nike Football Training Combine at Centreville on April 26, Stone Bridge junior defensive tackle Aaron Crawford added offers from Minnesota, Marshall and Boston College. Since the season ended, Crawford has gone from two to 10 offers.

Thursday night Crawford trimmed his list to three schools — Boston College, North Carolina and Virginia. The three universities were ranked in Bloomberg Businessweek’s most recent top 10 list of undergraduate business schools, which Crawford used to pick them as his finalists. Virginia was ranked second, Boston College ranked fourth and UNC rounded out the top 10.

“I want to go to a school with a top business program, and they have it,” Crawford said. “I visited all three campuses and they stood out to me. I took those two things I got from the programs to help narrow my list down.”

The 6-foot-1, 310-pound Crawford wants to visit all three campuses one more time before making his decision on Aug. 2. He will announce his school at a small party at a friend’s house near his Ashburn home among his nearest family and friends who helped him along the way.

Crawford will visit North Carolina on May 17, but he has yet to plan his other visits. He said the fact they were all ACC schools was a small factor when trimming his list.

“I really wanted to stay a little closer to home,” Crawford said. “Yes, they’re all ACC schools, but that wasn’t at the top of the mind. But it’s a blessing they are all close to home.”
