Each year, Under Armour selects 10 regional teams of underclassmen All-Americans to represent their area at a tournament and declare an Underclass champion. Each of the 10 regions holds its own tryouts for girls and boys, and judges with expertise in each region select 24-player rosters. Wednesday, Under Armour released the roster of its D.C.-area girls’ team for the July 12 event at Towson, which had a particularly early tryout date relative to the other regions.

Guided by St. John’s Coach Aubrey Andre, Ashley Russell of Elizabeth Seton and Meghan Ayers of Trinity Episcopal, the D.C.-area underclass roster features public and private school players from Pennsylvania, Maryland, the District and Virginia. Most Howard County players will try out for the Baltimore team Wednesday and Thursday, though Under Armour allows players to try out for any region’s team that’s most convenient for her schedule, provided that player play with that team throughout the tournament.
