Obama heads to Gridiron dinner: A look back at his last time

President Obama is expected to attend the elite Gridiron Club dinner on Saturday — only his second time since he came into office. More evidence that he’s trying to reach out more and shed his aloof image? (As seen with his dinner dates with GOP senators and other bridge-building efforts.) Or is it just that, now safely into his second term, he feels like he can finally kick back and enjoy a stuffy white-tie dinner.

Which one is Gridiron? The one where top-tier journalists put on goofy song skits. (Not to be confused with the jokes-but-no-singing Alfalfa Club.) Here’s the scene from the last time Obama attended Gridiron, in 2011; and from the Obama-less 2012 Gridiron dinner.
