Countersuing: George Soros, who finally responded to an ex-mistress’s $50 million lawsuit by suing her for defamation and assault, reports the New York Post. In papers filed Monday in New York, the billionaire, 82, disputes the allegations of Brazilian actress Adriana Ferreyr, 29, and claims she threw a lamp at him during a fight three years ago over his other girlfriend (now-fiancée Tamiko Bolton). In her 2011 suit, Ferreyr claimed Soros promised to buy her a $2 million apartment; he denies it. Ferreyr’s attorney did not return calls; Soros’s lawyer, William Zabel, declined to discuss the case but told us, “If every promise to a girlfriend was an enforceable contract, I’d be in court every day” — not that he’s talking about Soros, just life in general, you know.
