Surreal estate: Tim Geithner is selling Bethesda home

Seller: Timothy Geithner

Asking price: $995,000

Details: Now that they’ve moved back to New York, the former Treasury secretary and his wife, Carole, have put the modest Bethesda rambler they bought four years ago for $950,000 on the market, as first noted by Curbed DC. Four bedrooms, 21/2 baths, two rec rooms in 2,500 square feet. Since the housing market has improved, they’ll probably have better luck selling this time: In 2009, they tried to unload their $1.6 million Tudor in suburban New York, dropping the price before finally renting the place out.
