“I started nice, but they told me I had to be really angry.”

— Kai Goodall on portraying Rep. Eleanor Holmes Norton at Satuday’s “Blacks in Wax” show at the Kennedy Center. The fifth-grader from Basis D.C. charter school — who demanded “D.C. Statehood Now!”— was one of the many local students who played historic African-American leaders in the annual performance. Goodall met her real-life counterpart after the show: “She’s got my number!”  Norton said with a chuckle.
