The annual race for VIP commencement speakers continues. Howard University announced Tuesday that Bill Clinton will speak at its graduation ceremonies May 11. “His extraordinary global work and commitment to public service will inspire the class of 2013 as they prepare to make their mark on the world,” exulted Howard President Sidney A. Ribeau in a media release.

Clinton, as you may know, is a former U.S. president, which means he likely outranks GWU’s celebrity commencement speaker Kerry Washington, who merely plays a presidential adviser/mistress on TV’s “Scandal.”
