Roger Ebert’s widow Chaz kicked off the 15th annual Roger Ebert Film Festival — the first one without him — in Champaign, Ill., Wednesday night. “I am so happy to be with you this evening. I was hoping my — I always called Roger ‘my boyfriend’ — my boyfriend would be with me, and he’s not. . . ” she said before a screening of “Days of Heaven” by Terrance Malick. “Thank you for giving me some place to go today.
